Overview

China Investment Corporation was founded on 29 September 2007 as a wholly state-owned company incorporated in accord with China's Company Law, established as a vehicle to diversify China's foreign exchange holdings and seek maximum returns for its shareholder. CIC has three subsidiaries: CIC International Co., Ltd., CIC Capital Corporation and Central Huijin Investment Ltd.1

China Investment Corporation's investment capital supports sovereign or public-sector financial objectives.2
